The museum provides for the community thanks to the assistance of volunteers and interns.
Help is always needed at the museum for a variety of tasks.
Jobs are available both behind the scenes and working with the public. You decide how to get involved and how often! Volunteers make it possible for the museum to continue providing for the public.
Become a tour guide, work on the PastPerfect Museum Software project, greet guests at an event, water the garden, or help create the next exhibit.
Any amount of volunteer time shared with the museum is greatly appreciated. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, email the Slifer House Museum Project Coordinator at: Kirsten.Winner@AlbrightCare.org
Looking for job experience needed to land a future position? The museum offers year-round internships that provide professional career experience. Graduating students with internships on their résumé have a much better chance at landing a full-time position after graduation. Internships have many perks, including:
- Opportunity to “test drive” a career in history or museum studies
- Chance to network
- Establish relationships with mentors
- Possible college credit
- Accumulate new skills
As an intern, you’ll get to learn a little bit about museum collections, preservation, archiving, business administration, marketing, public relations, fund development and event planning. The opportunities are endless! Email the Museum Project Coordinator at: Kirsten.Winner@AlbrightCare.org
